My Groom Wedding Speech Planning
I have always been aware of the fact that when my fianc and I chose to get married that I would need to compose a groom wedding speech, although I have never known the importance of this speech itself! To be honest, I left it alone for many weeks before realizing that I had to sit down and really write this thing down.
My advice about that? Dont make the same mistake I did. Plan ahead if you can!
As you first begin to think about the groom speech, it might seem like a difficult undertaking. In any case, you already have so much going into standing in front of everybody to speak your vows, so doing it to give a speech is also pretty stressful!
As the wedding loomed closer, I attempted to come up with a charming, funny, yet inspirational speech, but I couldn’t think of a thing. So the thing I did was sat down with a pen and paper and wrote down whatever thoughts came to me.
Trust me when I say this, as there are far better ways to plan a groom wedding toast, but this was a wonderful way to kickstart my ideas.
It was hard at first, but as soon as I began using speech prompts and guides, I just started writing down tid bits of information about me and my bride. I wrote about how and where we first met, how long we’d been together, some of our best memories – little things like that. Writing about our relationship and what we had gone through together in the past truly helped me to put things into words for the speech.
In the beginning, it isn’t important to figure out what order you are writing everything in or what jokes you are going to insert. The things that will keep you from creating a wonderful speech is not writing it at all. Just by writing down some thoughts and ideas, I had taken a big first step in completing my groom wedding speech.
