Men and women alike get emotional when they watch certain types of movies and shows. Movies have a way of affecting the way we feel. They can stimulate unpleasant thoughts of the past or inspire us with hope for the future.

A typical romance movie can mean different things to different people. While a scene in one movie may cause a person to remember the day they fell in love, it may cause another to think back to the day when their troubles in life all began. Movies plots and scenes have an emotional connection to our past.

Some love and romance stories are based on real life events. The circumstances surround the plots are very similar to the circumstances people face today. Though the scenes and locations of the story may vary, the conditions such as meeting a new person for the first time on a cruise ships are all the same.

Horror movies tend to excite the darkest places in out memories. While there are thousands of scenarios and scary scenes, a good horror movie will make you remember the scariest time of your life. This could have been when you were a child who was afraid of the dark, or a teenager that buckled at the knees when standing near the edge of a tall cliff.

Scary films are in a class of their own. They often remind us of a time when we were once scared of the dark or of the thought of creepy noises echoing in the night as the wood and furniture settled. When I was younger, I hated leaving closet doors in my bedroom partially opened. Similar movie scenes often remind me of those times.

I love to watch funny movies. They make me feel good and remind me of fun times I had in the past. More than just pranks and joke, funny movies tend to take us back to some of the happiest times in our lives. They bring back memories of functional and not so functional family holiday events and remind us of times when life was not so complicated.

It has been said that the movies people watch are reflections of their dreams and personalities and will most often be a representation of their past. Movies wherein your favorite actors huddled around the dinner table for the holidays remind us of the fun times when had growing up. They are very nostalgic.

A good film can inspire you to accomplish great things. They can also provide wisdom and insight if the movie you are watching is very similar to your life’s present circumstances. Movies will always have a significant place in our lives. They will continue to make us laugh and cry and they will often be the source of unexpected wisdom when we need it the most.
