Indeed. As terrible as US policy can be, people like Hitler and Stalin were ruthless killers who used force whenever it suited them. More people died under Stalin’s regime than in the Holocaust, in fact.

To some extent I agree with you about companies and big businesses and the American president. Many people close to the president have conflicts of interests with big businesses. It is naive, however, to say that what is said about Hitler, Stalin, and to a lesser extent, Castro, is all just U.S. propaganda. They were/ are smart, BUT “evil in the flesh” as well (again, Castro to a much much lesser extent).

How many people fled to the East? There must have been some. People whose entire families were on the East.
yeah I think the occupation of Germany did more to shape the national attitude of peacefulness than guilt about Nazi’s & slogans like “Nie Wieder”

it’s the same everywere.here in Greece the kids and teenagers don’t even care to know our own national history.we were enslaved by the Turks for 400 years,we kicked the Italians out in the begining of WW2 and we resisted hard against the Nazis,we had brutal civil wars and many other events and if you ask a young one if he knows anything about these he will say “ummm.i think i heard something”.sure one day we will pay for ignoring history.and the price will be high.

I agree, I admit I love a good movie , but history is so much more interesting because it’s real! I only wish the rest of the world thought so, here in America(don’t know where your from) it seems the t.v. networks are more interested in pushing reality t.v than reality. It makes me sad and I fear we will pay for it in the future.
because people remember only events that have been recreated in holywood movies with crazy explosion effects,dogfights,tankbattles, and love stories and heroic acts. like WW2, Cold war,Vietnam, etc. but this is a detail. the big picture is that none realy cares anymore about history,about why world wars happened,about what happened in the cold war period etc etc. ignorance.

Because people have forgotten about How communists regime had created so many tragedies and killed so many people. If you look at the way that people thinking now… Russia and China are “good” countries…and US, the west are bad…….. If you live with commies you will understand what i mean.
