But when it comes to backing!! Haha forget it. Especially if you have an o/o as a trainer. They won’t teach you shit! Other then how to make them MONEY. Students RUN, RUN as fast as you can. Don’t let swift ruin your career before it even starts.

  2. truckersteven09 says:

Swift is a joke!! And there lil 6 week training. Its no wonder so many drivers lose their career before it even gets started. Yea they teach you to drive forward, and make turns. Any idiot can do that!

  3. bunnybutt6939 says:

They could care less if there drivers are safe. Their main goal is to move that freight at all cost. And many times its the poor truck driver that it costs him or her everything. No wonder this sorry excuse for a company is always is some kind of law suit. And no wonder so many of their drivers leave. THEY SUCK

  4. bunnybutt6939 says:

After 6 short, uneducated weeks on the road. You are thrown out the door in a 80,000 pound truck, with no maps, no gps, no nothing. Just a stupid Qualcom. And a truck that don’t run half right. The student just starting out at 25 cents a mile whoa big money there lmao NOT. And they have to buy it all and pay for it all.

  5. bunnybutt6939 says:

Hey BigCat how much ass you kissing? I’m the wife of a ex swift driver. That company is so worthless that its not funny. Let’s see how they train their drivers shall we. Yea they send you out with trainers who don’t care if you learn anything. They are owner operators so they use the students for their own gain aka MONEY

@BigCat, per the 42 second mark of your vid you are claiming 4500 miles in 1 week in a truck that is governed at 65 mph. 1st off Swift Trucks don’t do a full 65 mph and when you divide 4500 miles by 65 mph that tells me you are full of shit or you were running illegal. Also keep in mind some states do have a 55 mph limit or 60 mph limit and with all the stops you make along the way you are NOT average 65 mph.

  7. abronLbrown says:

do you ever come throw vicksburg ms

  8. Route66IL says:

swift is sucks plus covenant transport but marten transport is the best, take my work I been driving for 9 years and OTR

  9. shaithis45 says:

@metalblizz420, Swift-Sparks, NV terminal felt I was a waste of resources because I fucked up my driving test for rehire and barred me from going out on the road with a mentor. That was even with 2+ years of prior exp with the company and taking a break from the industry. Best favor they ever did was turn me down. Swift is too big and too disorganized and has too many truckers to guarantee a liveable wage especially with what they pay newbies to start at. Not worth the time.

  10. shaithis45 says:

@metalblizz420 I think the odds are stacked against truckers as that has how micromanaged things have become where they will try and place fault on us. As far as following distance is concerned trust me if there is a dog in the roadway on a fwy a few miles up the road and if you are following too closely at the time believe me the car in front of you will slow down and maybe even stop. I’ve been through that situation before fortunately I could downshift real fast at the time.

  11. metalblizz420 says:

i agree, with you 100% at the end is all about the driver. but this 8 second rule is there to cover their ass.

  12. shaithis45 says:

@mb420, a designated trucking school is where you get trained. Then it varies on the trainers now known as mentors to show sheeple the Swift way however I never really liked their propaganda more commonly known as the driveline. A lot of lies with that company.

  13. shaithis45 says:

@mb420: regarding LA traffic that is why you manage your space constantly and gradually increase your following distance. Also truckers are limited to what lanes they can use in the LA area which are either limited to a designated truck lane or the two right lanes.

  14. metalblizz420 says:

one more thing if you are new to Swift, please read your drivers manul. there’s alot of stuff that you have to know but Swift won’t tell you but then they’ll cover their ass by saying you should of read it. For example the 8 second rule. it states that 8 seconds is the minimun following distance whick is impossible in los angles with all the traffic and though Swift is self insured, if they prove you following distance was less than 8 seconds you get terminated and swift comes for damages

  15. metalblizz420 says:

and no they don’t train you, they only show you videos to cover their ass!! Time is money and if you work for swift your terminal better be Phoenix, cause otherwise you gonna be stuck in the middle of no where with no load and can’t get to no one cause you gotta do everything by the qualcomm so good luck to you. my advice if you see a swift truck talk to the drivers, have them tell you about their experieces. by the way swift is self insured so most of the drivers have a F!@$ed up driving record

  16. metalblizz420 says:

F!@# Swift!!! i used to be a swift driver from Wilmington, CA they work you 14 hrs a day and legally you can only work 11 driving. 75% of the drivers quit cause F!@#em all over!! They owe everyone over 3000 in over time they tell you what you wanna hear but once your in its a whole different game. and over the road driver, they make about a thousand a week, but they live in their truck 24/7 you make the math its less then 6 buck an hour!!!

  17. quest2drive says:

bigcat, help me out, I am going to truck driving school after christmas (or signing up) I am looking at swift. I know what your video says about you like swift but now from last videos I have doubt. It looks like you are leaving swift, if so is it due to your choice or are all that others say true. just keep you on long enough to string you on? PLEASE BE HONEST!!!! QUICK!!

  18. shaithis45 says:

I used to think at one time logging 60 mph constant when Swift was governed at 60 mph was okay then I realized if I got into an accident etc. etc. or was analyzed too closely at the weight stn. that I could be subjected to fines and at fault in any accident I was involved in because I cheated on my logs. It is not worth it and regardless of your successful runs, it won’t amount to shit because you the driver choose to run illegal. 4500/wk in a Swift truck is bullshit.

  19. shaithis45 says:

the Swift trucks are not even governed exactly at 65 mph and if one does the math you take 4500 miles/65 mph and come out with nearly 69+ hours of driving. VERY UNREALISTIC. Presaceo since this vid was posted, Big Cat has left Swift trans and trying something new in his life anyway. Still I just don’t like how Big Cat thinks Swift is all that great considering he hasn’t worked long enough in the industry from the looks of it. Remember people you can’t log a constant 65 mph.

  20. presaceo says:

4500 miles in a week?? At 60mph?? You must be running teams! If not then you better remove this vid because if you ever get in a accident a attorney will use this against you for sure! Your only getting miles like that because your new and theyre paying you pennies on the dollar so to speak. Wait till your getting 45 cpm or more. Youll change up your tune about the company lol I’m 10 years in so I know the games they play…when your making $800-$1200 after taxes your company is good.

  21. thebonencp says:

thanks for the info man, I’ve been thinking about driving for sometime now. but i’m still not sure about what company to work for. I really was thinking about swift.

  22. cky1201 says:

What is swift’s driver turnover? when I worked there it was over 100%. That should tell you something. Companies like swift keep freight rates down and pay their drivers peanuts. If a man drives for swift full time, is away from home for weeks at a time, swift should be ashamed that driver’s family still qualifies for food stamps.

  23. cky1201 says:

DO NOT GO TO WORK FOR THIS COMPANY……. biggest mistake I ever made was driving for swift

  24. shaithis45 says:

menotu419, trucking is as real as it gets in the workforce and some of those complaints are legitimate. All I can say is watch your back and make sure your expenses are being reimbursed and miles are being compensated. You will find that you will be shorted miles on certain trips so if it exceeds a certain percentage then bitch to your driver mgr. and get paid what you are owed. Their movers guide mileage was bullshit.

  25. shaithis45 says:

Debodub23, I was lucky to even see 10000+ miles with Swift and that was back east running up and down I-81 in VA. They kept giving me 24/7 drops which made it easy, but that was only short lived and at a time when the trucks were governed at 60 mph. Good luck out there.
