@definegreatness: Greatness we have watched the video and DO NOT agree with the finger release they offer. We are convinced after 50 years that the two finger release is the best way to go, however, you will need to make your own choice about which will work for you. We believe that we have much better control of the ball when we use both fingers. Keep us posted on when you decide to do.

@defygreatness: Hey, glad we can help you.

  9. defygreatness says:

@ShotScience Thanks for the reply again . It really helped my shot. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

  10. ShotScience says:

@defygreatness: Greatness, the thumb has no real roll in the shot after the ball is in the set point. It releases as the wrist begins to flex for the finish of the shot. NO THUMB!!!

  11. defygreatness says:

coaches, when shooting the ball should you use your thumb to shoot and use it to give more power to your shot or is it just used to support the ball?

  12. ShotScience says:

@lukeman3000: Hey, funny you should mention this. We have discussed this as well recently. The improvement is just a part of the “Learning Curve” we suppose. Thanks for your support and hope we can be helpful to you. We just responded to your comment about the “L” postion, cocking the wrist and ran out of room. The follow thru results from the flopping finish of the wrist and not really affected by the cocking of the wrist. Stay tuned for more.

Your videos have improved a lot over the course of the last year

  14. ShotScience says:

@dbwkghks: We have the index finger in the middle of the ball at Set Point and this helps us keep the elbow in without forcing it in. When we start the stroke the hand begins to rotate toward the thumb making it easy to release off the first two fingers.
We are really delighted that you like our videos and that they are helping you. Stay tuned for more and “Spread the Word.”

  15. dbwkghks says:

    Last question!

How come we can release the ball with index and middle fingers?
i mean if we put index finger in the middle of the ball and release the ball with the two fingers, the ball would not go straight because of the dfferent height of two fingers.

by the way, the videos are really hleping me, Thanks

  16. rellion89Woo says:

Its my stationary h and…I have the tendency to shoot the ball and stationary hand wont stay straight. itll shoot off to the side

  17. ShotScience says:

    dbw: Yes!

  18. dbwkghks says:

so, when we are releasing, other fingers ,except thumb and index, will be placed on the right side of the ball?
,and should we use index and middle fingers at the same time releasing the ball?

  19. ShotScience says:

dbw: Place the index finger in the middle of the ball so that it creates a”yoke” between your index finger and your thumb. This will help to keep the elbow in on your shot.

  20. dbwkghks says:

    Coach
where should i place my index and middle fingers on a ball?

should i put on the middle of a ball?

  21. ShotScience says:

rellion: Thanks for the question, but we are not real sure what your question is asking. What do you mean by stationary arm? Give us some more info or send us a video so we can analyze your shot. We will be waiting.

  22. rellion89Woo says:

I have a hard time keeping my stationary hand straight…how can i fix this

  23. ShotScience says:

50k: Take a look at the finish of the finger in this video and note that all fingers finish going toward the floor with the ball finishing off the first and second fingers. Check it out. Thanks for your question.

  24. 50kEm says:

    hey coach

what i mean by the one down three up is when you onlu follow through with your index and you bring your index finger down two touch your thumb and the other three just stay up.
    thank you

  25. ShotScience says:

50k: Not really sure what you mean by “One down three up.” Is this the finish of the fingers?

Get back to us about this.
