I was so pissed when Jean Grae announced that she had given up on being a rapper. That’s because the industry had successfully blocked her and all others like her from exposure. The white owners of Hip Hop culture felt threatened by women with intellegent and connstructive messages. They understand the power women have and with Nikki, they’re going to use it to further subjegate black culture to a 2nd class consumer culture.
