As soon as the keywords have been found, they should be used in content. This can be for articles that will be used in marketing, or for actual website copy. Blog posts should also be optimized. You only need a few keywords per article, one main one and a couple of secondary keywords, though it is easy to do just one, as well.
As an example, the main keyword might be “cell phone face”, while the next words would be “Cellular” and “signal”. The primary keyword or phrase would be used just a bit more than the others in the content.
The main keyword, which may also be the only one that is being used, should be included at the beginning of the title. In each blog post title, it’s important to include the keyword. It’s not always easy and sometimes you will need to use punctuation like “Whiskey Shots: A Better Way to Drink”, where whiskey shots is the keyword. This makes it easy for the search engines to pick it all up.
Finally, all keywords need to be used in the first paragraph. The last paragraph is also quite important and for longer articles which are over 200 words, it’s best to use the keywords at least once in the center of the text, as well. Most people aim for 1-2% keyword density or the number of times a keyword is used per 100 words. Anything more than this and you risk being penalized. The keyword phrases need to blend into the article and not sound forced.
For an added boost, it’s possible to make the main words bold or italic in the first or last paragraph, to help grab the attention of search spiders. For an article which will be submitted to a directory, it’s a good idea to include top keywords in the reference box, as well. Use them as anchor text which will give the website another little boost. It all adds up and it is worth doing what is possible to boost the website rankings.
