I see Pastor Bob around and say hi. But my opinion of the church does not hinge on my personal relationship with Pastor Bob. There are many gifted teachers in the US and it’s only natural that more people will want to hear. So, why not make it more available to them via Internet and locations? If people are being pointed to the Lord and they are being connected to a body of believers (not necessarily the senior pastor) for support then I dont see anything wrong with it.

I think the main purpose of a church should be to connect ppl to God. 2nd is to connect that person to other believers. And 3rd is to connect that person to the community with through service. I’ve attended CCFL for many years. It seemed impersonal at first but that changed when I began to serve and have a proactive approach to my faith. I developed relationships with other pastors (besides Pastor Bob) and friends. Basically, you get out what you put in.

Calvary Chapel Ft.L was in USA Today’s list of top 10 churches with 4 sites. The article and this model comes across as Big Box and impersonal. What do you think?

Thanks for speaking about this topic..
I usually “type” out my notes and end up reading it word for word..
I’ve been thinking about just writing out Gods word and just letting things flow
I guess it’s better if I let the Holy Spirit lead me and not word for word from my typed out paper hehe
    Thanks!!!! :D
