My own answer is easy. My husband would choose a root canal instead of sitting through a movie like the Notebook or Terms of Endearment. Now don’t misunderstand me. That does not mean he is not romantic. The person loves deeper than I could describe. He is not a fan of traditional ‘romance movies’.

Our own date nights usually involve Ben Stiller, Adam Sandler, Owen Wilson, or Jim Carrey. Those men have no idea about this, but they are a huge part of why our marriage is such a joy. The fact that our date nights contain an enjoyable movie rather than a forced moment implies that my husband is satisfied and relaxed – two excellent things for romance.

This is just one of my husband’s all-time favorite movies. Plus, in case your husband is keen on Caddyshack, he’ll appreciate Bill Murray battling a rodent once again.

The Wedding Singer – Robbie, the wedding singer and Julia, the waitress are both actually engaged to become married but to the wrong people.

Any man who remembers the 80s will thoroughly enjoy this. And, every woman is going to be teary-eyed when Robbie sings “Grow Old with You” at the conclusion.

Fun With Dick and Jane – Dick and Jane are generally living the good life, right up until Dick is setup as the fall man for the firm he works for. With no job, no personal savings, no pension plan, in addition to living in disgrace within their own local community. Things get a whole lot worse when they receive a foreclosure notice.
