President Carter got the peace prize too. You know Obama was nominated for the Nobel Peace prize twelve days after taking office. Upon acceptance of winning it, Obama was praised by the committee, “extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy”. . They also gave the peace prize to Yasser Arafat, the leader of the PLO, the best known terrorist organization on the globe. This is like giving it to David Duke, the former Grand Wizard of the KKK.

I feel pity for the people who is willing to kill so their children can drive a car
@jwh30385 its considered illeagal? well, then your not gonna like how it goes on. The man who shoots at the car, says something similar to “”wow, did you see that, right through the windshield” he is braggin about it. when they get down on the ground (the soliders and the sergeant) they disover that there is children in the car. you know what they agree on. “its the fathers fault for bringing children into a war zone”. WTF?
@gulbirk Germany has one of the US’s largest overseas military bases. And civilian casualties happen in both Afghanistan and Iraq. The vast majority of civilian deaths in these countries are at the hands of insurgents, but events like the one you described unfortunately happen. Usually, these are investigated, and plenty of American soldiers have been sentenced for murder in American courts. It’s considered illegal, both here, and there.
@jwh30385 Germany? germany doesnt have US troops in it, do they?
The invasion of the middle easter countries is stupid. yesterday i watched a part of a show about wikileaks. it showed video fottage of NATO forces killing innocent people for no other reason then killing. and then later, brag about to the other. one of the coments was this “”"Hey, chekc out that want, it might contain explosives” “No reason to open fire yet” as he said that, the other guy fired 252 bullet at the car.
@soar8hours The Nobel committee is composed of Norwegian politicians, most of whom are/were staunch supporters of NATO, and Norway’s participation in Afghanistan.
@Mdl1038spl “Liberated” is a strong word. On paper it seems easy to say 50 million were liberated, but few Iraqis would call the chaos Iraq inevitably turned into a “liberation”. If Iraq in the next decades actually turns into a real democracy with a stable economy, Bush will get his credit in the history books, but as of today, Iraq is suffering from a power vacuum, which is what normally happens when a stable government is removed overnight.
@barron9667 I did not support giving the award to Obama. However, if you look at the reasoning behind it, it is in no way unreasonable or irrational. The US has created the world’s most powerful military, and is today the world’s only military superpower. By intervening in Korea, Vietnam, South America, Kuwait, Iraq, the Balkans etc etc, the US has, for better or worse, taken on a responsibility. the prize was awarded to Obama for the significant he represented in the way things are done.
@gulbirk Not really. No country in the Middle East is currently in a state of war, and the only ongoing genocide in the Arab world is in Darfur. Iraq was a fairly stable country under Saddam, turned into utter chaos once the US and UK invaded, but like it or not, has turned relatively stable. All US combat troops are out of Iraq, and hopefully, Iraq can develop similarly to Japan, South Korea and Germany (which still have large amounts of US troops present).. Although it’s unlikely.
@jwh30385 yes, and whats going on in the middle easth rigth now, lets see, war (minor inside wars to) genocide (because of sharia law) chaos, the military has all the controll.
@gulbirk I don’t believe we’re making things better down there. I opposed the war even before it started. But you can’t just *leave* overnight. Remember what happened to most African colonies after the British/French/Portuguese etc left? Civil war and gonocides. Remember what happened in the Balkans after Tito left power? Civil war and genocide. Heck, what happened in Iraq after Saddam was ousted? Chaos, with the coalition forces as the only police power.
@jwh30385 ok, so what you are saying is that you believe USA is making it better down there. haha, well lett me tell you something. in obamas politcal campaign he never said that he was going to take out all forces, he said active forces. I reaserched it, activ forces is 1/3 of the forces. the other 2/3 are inactive, they arent in the war aria, and that good because, let me quote your earlier president (bush. “”I think war is a dangerous place”"”, LOL:
@gulbirk Just lpaying by your analogy. An invasion force is obviously not a stick with smooth surfaces you can just stick in and pull out without leaving any damage. I never supported the war in Iraq to begin with, I think it was huge mistake, but I’m not irresponsible enough to want to pull everything out overnight and say “good luck” either. No single bombing in the Middle East has caused 300 000 deaths. That would be a higher death toll than the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings combined.
See my Video on – Norwegian Nobel Peace Prize Committee Announcement “Why Gandhi never got Nobel Peace Prize ?”
@jwh30385 who said anything about a “rugged” stick. well anyways, if you sugest that the people that live in the middle easth, have a better life because of the american forces, then you have no idea whats going on down there. a couple of years ago, there was a bombing in the middle easth. 300 000 civilians died.
@Mdl1038spl His prize got lost in the complete mess called Iraq.
@gulbirk A rugged stick shoved up someone’s ass would have to be removed surgically, step by step. If pulled out too quickly, it would leave massive internal bleeding, and possible life threatening damages to internal organs. This pull out overnight and let the Iraqis themselves choose their path is complete bullshit. It’s like saying take that rugged stick and pull it out of your ass with no medical oversight, and decide for yourself if you want it there or not.
@gulbirk Good analogy, but completely out of context. When you invade a country, you also have the responsibility for what happens to that country. The US is actually one of the first countries in history to abide by that responsibility. In history, nearly every country that was decolonized “overnight” broke out into civil war. That’s what happens when you pull out overnight. A power vacuum is left, and where there’s a power vacuum, there will be power struggle.
@jwh30385 well, and no he has decided not to end the war in iraq, but take out 2/3 of the activ forces. thats like sticking a stick up someones as, then pull it 2/3 out. isnt the as still occupated.
@gulbirk You mean Watergate….
As for doing something, Obama hadn’t done much, but like it or not, he was an extremely influential person on the world stage, even before he was elected president. I’m not saying this because I agree with the award, I’m saying it because I understand the reasoning, as well as his influence on the world stage. I also understand the consequences of this influence.
@Naomi3210 Mostly because a lot of people will not do this. Some people believe people with other beliefs do not deserve to live. Simple as that. also your fucking stupid.
OBAMA will be the United Nations President during the month of DECEMBER….
1946 the UN FORMED: legs of iron: WEST:UK,FRANCE,USA EAST:CHINA,RUSSIA
Now we have 10 UN Security Council Nations elected by the 192 members of the General Assembly.
So Obama can push a 2 State Solution/Resolution during the month of December?
Whatta load of krap.
That’s the true genius of America!
AWESOME!!! WELL SAID PRESIDENT OBAMA!!! WELL DESERVED HONOUR!!! CONGRATS!!
