The New Hot Trend: Mobile Blogging

Few things are considered as cool today as mobile blogging. The object of blogging to begin with is for people to be able to post interesting material and update it frequently. Mobile blogging increases the speed of divulging information even further, as it allows the poster to publish content the moment something happens. Moblogs and mobloggers flood the internet with fresh information about events that might still be unfolding, and make that information available for anyone in the world.

Some have expressed the feeling that blogging is definitively limited by the distance between a blogger and their computer. When something blog-worthy happened, one would have to run home and boot up the computer before being able to report it, and that would take time. But with mobile blogging, posters can publish content instantly, no matter where they are. Moblogging has made it possible for bloggers to post from virtually every corner of the world.

Mobile blogging is still new, since the gadgets to make it happen have only recently hit the market. Though the first moblogging technology first appeared about ten years ago, the trend didn’t hit until the last two to three years, or since the technology became more user-friendly.

The advent of a more widespread use of mobile phone cameras triggered this phenomenon, as more people felt compelled to get out and take photos of what was happening around them. The popularity of moblogging is growing steadily, and especially in the last few months it has attracted a lot of attention. It is hard to tell if moblogging will eventually replace traditional blogging, but considering how widespread it is becoming, it is safe to assume it is not going anywhere any time soon.

Thanks to mobile technology, bloggers are now able to post content and photos immediately from any location. You could, for example, cover a presidential speech or the final moments of the world series right away, if you happen to be at that location. This provides the public a medium to really take part to events as if they were following them on live TV, but in a more democratic way. The benefits of moblogging are surely going to root this hot new trend into the future.
