Email is a system of sending and receiving messages electronically. It is a mode of communication in which a computer user can compose a message at one terminal and would be received by the recipient when they check their account. An email message consists of three components, the message envelope, the message header, and the message body. The message header contains control information, including, minimally, an originator’s email address and one or more recipient addresses. Usually descriptive information is also added, such as a subject header field and a message submission date/time stamp.
Normally the connection is done with the help of a modem to ISP (Internet Service Provider). This process is so easy that a normal man can make use of it. Other advantages of email are they can be stored and can be checked for future purposes. When use of it is over it can be erased from the folders.
The factor of emails has both advantages and disadvantages. It’s easy to use for managing daily task. The speed of delivery is really not comparable to any other media of communication. The presence of subject line is really effective to prioritize the task. Generating automated emails using auto responders is an added advantage.
The Business firms get more advantage by emailing their products and services to the customers which adds on profit. But on the other hand if the recipient doesn’t scan an email, virus can easily attack the computers they are working on, as it’s easily transmitted through the communication channels. Hacking can be a great issue for those interested in secure communication also spam. The inbox needs to be checked regularly to be updated regularly.
As the emails having this much of advantages they are also not free from disadvantage. One of the major disadvantage is the emails will not be reaching due to the loss of Internet connection. The second rated disadvantage is the viruses that can be present in the attachments with the email. Misinterpretation is the one of the disadvantage which will be getting occurred when the matter is typed in a hurry. Mail overflow, unwanted content email are some of the other disadvantages related to Email.
