Where once there were limited opportunities for publishing articles now there is a flood. With the growth of the Net comes the development of the Blog – the likelihood for any person with an agenda to scribe their thoughts, feelings, issues, rants and raves to the sphere of individuals that make up their sub group.

This world sphere is not limited to college friends or interest groups inside a set geography, but a worldwide audience who may StumbleUpon and Digg your content introducing ever growing networks to increase your social voice, your platform.

Therefore , it is no surprise that social media communities like Facebook and Twitter are successful; as new generations of creative writers come to the front looking to generate their own platform the attraction of this virtual world of broadcasting seems infinite.

There are lots of promises of wealth (affiliate internet marketing, banner adverts, paid guest blogs) to bait the credulous. Yet the realms of exact and virtual are colliding with countless bloggers, social media managers, and other online expert roles filling the job ads. Standard firms are welcoming the new age technology, looking to hook directly into the online broadcasting audience and see these up and coming virtual socialites as a sound investment for gaining traction in the online world.

Actually online is here for good – at least while we still have electricity (otherwise we might have to resort to smoke signals and accept a far more local audience). But with the online culture comes the loss of normal limits, no longer are we country based, but Like based. We are branded together by groups, pages and supporters instead of nationalities, races and sex.

The fuss of blogging is just that – the chance to add commentary to this virtual world. Sure bloggers may be a bit raw, may not follow the company line but that is the fuss, it’s social views without the editor, not reactive to the company policy but a personal view. It’s the chance to voice an opinion – but like the surfeit of stories media, discovering which blogs are good sources of information becomes the most difficult task for the instant future.

The Australian blog community is rapidly growing and many can be discovered on dLook online directory where Australian bloggers can create free listing for their own blog.

This is a short lesson on how to write creatively and how it is different from a lot of essay writing. The video is designed for high school students as the target audience. The purpose of the video is to explain that while creative writing has a formula, it is still important to write in a stream-of-consciousness way, worrying less about grammar, spelling and structure and more about raw ideas that pop into the mind. The instructional objective is to write with abandon and not trying to overthink the process. Editing for grammar and spelling can be done anytime afterwards.

Many complain of writer’s block. They don’t know how to get their creative juice going enough to start. On several occasions, it would appear that it is not a simple feat to simply just begin putting down thoughts into words and then typing out a content. Also, you well know that good content is what captivates the interest of your readers and for them to keep on reading. With this in mind, you tend to freeze up and fuss over what to write and how exactly to churn out good content.
The main ingredient in a good article is a large dose of creativity. Putting words into images in the readers mind is an art. A clear and crisp depiction requires a certain flair that only creativity can provide. Similes and metaphors help in developing the reader’s imagination. You need to weave word by word, sentence by sentence and paragraph by paragraph to produce an enticing article.
So just what do you have to do when nothing comes to mind? There are no surefire ways to get the perfect ideas but there are easy ways to get your creative juices flowing. Here are seven of them to get you into the mood for creative article writing:
1) Relax and take a break. A jumbled mind cannot create any space for new ideas. A clear mind is needed if one wishes to have creativity flowing at full speed. Get rid of all obstacles that can be a hindrance to your creativity. If you are bothered by something, you cannot force your mind to stay focused. If you really want to write but finding it hard to, then take a break first. Go bake a cake or water the plants.
2) Keep a journal with you always. Ideas can be triggered by anything that you may hear, see, or smell. Your senses are your radar in finding great ideas. Write all of them into a journal and keep it with you for future reference. You may also write down anything that you have read or heard. You can leverage on and improve on someone’s ideas. Remember that ideas and creativity can come from anywhere; it’s the development of the idea that makes it unique.
3) Take time to reflect. Think about your experiences and interactions with others. Your experiences make you unique. Discover yourself and find out what triggers your emotions, what inspires you and what ticks you off. You can use these emotions to help you in expressing yourself and your ideas. Expressing emotions can result in great creativity.
4) Work in an environment that encourages you to relax and to inspire your creativity. Creativity comes from being in a good state of mind. An environment that is distracting won’t be conducive in firing up your creative flow.
5) Set the mood. Some have found that light music in the background makes them feel lighthearted and settles their mind. There are other ways, of course to set the mood. Some writers have been known to use a little sip of wine to stir up the imagination. There are others who let the lighting of the environment create the mood. For myself, I prefer that my telephone or handphone doesn’t ring. I switched them all off!
6) Take the time to laugh. Having a sense of humour helps ease the stress that you are feeling. Also, the ability and chance to laugh helps put things on a fresh perspective.
7) Lastly, do something different! Be adventurous and try something new and challenging. It can be skydiving, wakeboarding, rock climbing, whatever. That way, you will have a new experience to write about. Keep your mind and life active – and readers to your works will never get bored!

Think journaling is old fashioned? Think again. Are you having a hard time getting started on your article writing? Combine writers block with journaling to spark your article writing frenzy.

Journaling is a powerful tool for brainstorming ideas, keeping your writing skills sharp, and for storing ideas and notes for future article pieces. To make the most of your journal, I suggest the following 4 tips to all article writers, beginning through advanced. 1) Get the right tools. I love shopping for writing notebooks because there’s such a wide variety available today. Looking for a journal with flowers and other fancy designs? Try Barnes and Noble or Borders bookstores. Wal-Mart and office supply stores sell functional albeit less expensive journals. Make sure it feels good in your hands. Too small and you’ll breeze through the pages too quickly. Too bulky and you won’t take it with you for fear someone might snicker.

And, don’t forget your writing utensil. Your pen options are either rollerball or gel. I use a 0. 38 Uniball pen. I’ve only been able to find them in OfficeMax. I adore the fine point but they do tend to run out of ink faster than other pens. Use what you like best. If you hate to smear ink, or are clumsy like me and get gel all over you hands, shirt, and pants then stick with a ball point. Or, better yet, get a pencil. I don’t use pencils because I tend to erase too much. 2) Make it a habit. This goes without saying. If you want to be successful at journaling, you have to journal. Pick a time and spot where you can write everyday. Then just do it. Stay away from your computer so you won’t be distracted by everyday business. 3) Fire your inner critic. I used to think that all writing should be critiqued, reviewed, and revised. Once I let go of my inner critic, I began to enjoy journaling. Many times I pen random thoughts that would have been lost otherwise. Journaling should be inspirational, not drudgery. For those of you who are perfectionists, this step will be harder to master. Don’t write on your computer. When you see the autocorrect marks lighting up your screen, you’ll be tempted to make corrections. It’s less tempting to use paper and pen. 4) Use your journal for article food. Can’t think of anything to write? Flip through older journal entries. I guarantee it won’t take but a few minutes to find and idea or inspiration to get started. I purposely review journal entries to find new article ideas.

Journaling is an exercise to help you let go of yourself and break through any writer’s block. The important point to remember is that there is no wrong way to journal. Try to journal at least once a day. Don’t think you have anything to journal about? Write down your daily to do list. Sometimes just getting something on paper will get your mind working. You never know until you try. Have fun, enjoy the time, and get writing!

Brainstorming is all about ideas. It’s about setting off a bumper crop of visions, options, and inspirations. From these, you will be able to select that first-class, unbeatable “miracle thought”. . . the one that has been all that you wanted and needed it to be for your successful business. This exceptional idea perhaps will be THE solution to your dreams for future success!
Brainstorming is a creativity system for generating ideas for solving a problem. The highest result of a brainstorm session may be the above-mentioned COMPLETE solution to your problem. Or it may result in a list of ideas for tactics for a solution somewhere down the road. It may even result in a checklist for the formation of a plan to research and build a solution.
A simple brainstorming session can speedily kick-start your inventiveness and help you to stimulate ideas at a rapid rate. If you can only imagine something, brainstorming can always expand on it and perfect it. Always start by priming yourself for any session of brainstorming. Do a bit of research into your brainstorming topic. This will heighten your creativity think-cap.
You can brainstorm either individually or in a group. With group brainstorming, the participants are encouraged, and often expected, to let the others in on their ideas as soon as they are generated. The secret to brainstorming is to not disturb the thought process. As ideas come to mind, they are captured in written form, which will eventually provide the “history” of the session, and the stimulation for the development of better ideas.
There is a focus on quantity of ideas — The more ideas that are generated, the greater the chance of turning out a radical and effective solution. Group members initially focus on extending or adding to the ideas, but they reserve criticism for a later “critical stage. ” By postponing judgment, you allow a supportive atmosphere where members feel liberated for generating unusual ideas.
To get a good and long list of ideas, of course it is the unusual ideas that are particularly welcomed. These may open novel ways of thinking and present better solutions than “regular ideas. ” Atypical ideas can be generated by getting a glimpse from another perspective, or simply by setting aside one’s assumptions. If an idea is too “wild” to be practicable, it can be tamed down to a more fitting idea with more ease than thinking up yet another new idea.
There appears to be a common notion that creating ideas is a difficult undertaking. Many people seem to think that creativity is a mystical art, known only to a privileged “chosen few,” and that such “thinking outside the box” takes years of tormented study to learn this skill. Clear all doubt from your mind, as this is just simply not true! Creativity is simple. We would even say it is painless and comfortable. Anybody can learn to think creatively. Anyone at all can come up with extraordinary, original ideas. We all were literally born to brainstorm!
Idea generation is a cognitive process — The ability to make spontaneous connections between ideas or concepts is what brainstorming is all about. Every idea leads directly to the next, with no pauses for thoughts or examination. This, in fact, is what is behind the workings of the original, icon-based Macintosh computer (NOT the PC. . . icons came later for PC, after the success by Macintosh} where the brain sees one picture (icon) and automatically connects that to another concept. . . and you, the user go: Click! There is no prearranged order to this — ideas should flow randomly, without any attempt to organize or structure them.
Below is a sample collection of the multitude of things that brainstorming can be applied to:
- Creative projects — fine art, commercial art, inspiration for media projects,Web projects, multimedia, performance-based art
- Creative writing tasks — stories, books, scripts, articles
- Business ideas — new businesses, new products, new markets for existing products, methods for adapting existing products, advertising campaigns, marketing and promotional, sales force motivation
- Business names — find the supreme, extreme name for your next profit-pulling venture
- Scientific or technical research — win that grant or publish that novel! “A-Ha!” and “Eureka” ideas instigated most of the greatest scientific discoveries
Although the main purpose of brainstorming is to generate ideas, there are additional benefits:
- Improves creative thinking — members learn to move toward problems creatively and use association in the idea-making process, which becomes a skill they can use after the session, in their own lives
- Improves morale — participants work collaboratively to find a solution to a problem and every member is encouraged to take initiative. The “self-worth” value is immense
- Enjoyment — members usually like the interactive element of this creative atmosphere
The second you sit down to “make” yourself be creative, you probably will find that your brain goes into lockdown! Nothing in, nothing out. Zilch. Nada. That’s because there is no such thing as “forced creativity. ” The best way to allow your mind to form ideas is when you are busy doing something else. Your brain goes into free flow; the doors are wide open for thoughts to enter in.
The human brain has an immense capacity — But the majority of it remains untapped in day by day life. In essence, the more you practice brainstorming, the simpler it will become to open up new, more ingenious and spontaneous patterns of thought. Are you beginning to visualize what these concepts can do for you, the Internet marketer? This will help immensely for:
- Never being stuck for a memorable, new idea
- Creating your best catchy marketing concept
- Sailing effortlessly toward the “solution of the riddle”
- Finding successful marketing concepts that are faithful to your brand and to the nature of your unique business
The knack to brainstorming is to nudge your brain into working FOR you and not against you! On a personal level, you may become your own best friend — but in your business, you will become your own best ally!

A career in fiction writing or as a creative writer is really difficult to get off the ground – there is a lot of competition out there.
True, there is an insatiable demand for fresh stories, but at the same time, there are a lot of hurdles to be overcome by those who want to meet that demand.
If you need any proof, check out the best seller’s book list for any given week, and then compare that to a list of books that were released that same week. The ratio is staggering.
There are thousands of excellent writers who are working themselves into obscurity, because they are yet to achieve any kudos for their work. They don’t have a big enough presence in the industry to get noticed.
So, how do you get your creative writing out to the people?
Well, a good first start is to make a website.
Creating a website is a breeze nowadays because of the huge advances made in web design software. Something that in the not so distant past would have required programmers working for days, now gets done by complete amateurs in just a couple of hours.
Also, is you pick a really good web design program, you’ll have numerous professionally-designed templates to choose from that will make the process even quicker and make the final product look that much better.
Creating the website is the easy part, however. Fiction writers who have become really successful have be able to get their names ‘known’ and their work has got people craving more.
If you write short stories, then post a few good ones on your website. There won’t be a great financial return for the story (except by using advertising features from your web design program) but you will be getting your work published.
Creative writing web-rings abound. In return for posting a link to somebody else’s website on your home page, that person will add a link to yours.
By sharing traffic like this, you can make sure that a lot more people see your work, and once you have that recognition, it is a lot easier to segue into having your work published in a more traditional venue.
Investigate building a website for yourself – that way you will have full control over the content, and have the ability to update it in a flash.

Amateur writers who have their own websites are in the best position possible to earn a good living from their dream job. Get the facts now.

The journey is the template upon which a number of successful stories are based upon. A beginning, a middle and an end, all with purpose and hopefully meaning. Your articles should be no different.
If you tap into the unconscious expectations your audience has regarding what a story is and how it should be told, then you will be streets ahead of the rest.
Time is money for freelance writers, so the more you can streamline your writing processes the more time you save, and the more money you’ll make.
Full-time freelance writers will spend the equivalent of a working week on writing.
Most novice freelance writers in the US would be safe charging between $15 and $25 per hour for large project work. That situation obviously changes depending on your experience, command of the language and your location in the world.
The short story, or an article, is the ideal vehicle to begin a writing career. Personal events can provide the fodder for your first article, even if they aren’t particularly memorable or exciting. Concentrate on mastering a style and communication.
Try not to be too fancy with words or thoughts. You can flip open the dictionary or thesaurus when you need it. Just have fun and enjoy the exercise. You don’t have to please anyone but yourself at this level. When you feel more confident, tackle the novel, win that Pullitzer Prize, but for now, just write your article. .
If you’re in the first five years of your writing career, enjoy your writing. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself.
Here are some tips for getting focused on developing your freelance writing career and staying that way:
At the least, if you feel you cannot write it yourself, engage the services of a freelance professional, who will work with you to produce a worthwhile summary of your experiences in your chosen area of interest or competence. Ultimately however, developing your writing skills is not a bad idea, as it would enable you do more writing than you could if someone was taking notes from you.
The importance of verbal and writing skills in this information age cannot be stressed enough. The reward of disciplined writing is the most valuable job attribute of all: a mind equipped to think.
One of the best ways to get ideas is to write anything right now. Graham Green forced himself to write at least 500 words daily, whether he felt like it or not. Creative inspiration can strike at any time, but it strikes more often when there is work instead of waiting. Just start writing and you’ll have more creative writing ideas for your articles.
